Our loved ones have the right to quality, dignified nursing home care. Unfortunately, some nursing homes provide substandard care that results in abuse and neglect. State laws set the quality of care that must be given, and victims have legal rights if they do not receive that care, including money damages for pain and suffering.
Abuse and neglect can cause dehydration, malnutrition, medication errors, and bedsores (also called decubitis ulcers). There is rarely a good excuse for any patient to have bedsores over a long period of time.
